Smartphone Democracy Defined – Basics

Democracy and Reform is notably absent from most global leader discussions. Why, is it perfect already? I don’t think so!

Perhaps, a new governance model – aided by technology – can give immediate hope to nations like Ukraine and Syria and others seeking a more just and effective way and see their country being run as they would like it, without any corruption and fear.

A brand-new style of governance, called Smartphone Democracy, is emerging. By combining many of traditional government practices and some exciting current AI driven technologies added, most importantly a bulletproof system of governance can finally be established. The key word is bulletproof. This actually means we can now introduce an independent and a totally tamper-proof process – see rules below.  Here’s how it works:

Features of Smartphone Democracy

  1. Citizen Ratification
    • While politicians and different parties can continue to propose and push for legislative changes, their decisions will only be enacted if they are ratified by a two-to-one majority of each country’s citizens’ vote (achieved by voting on their Smartphones).
    • This ensures that the ultimate power resides with the people, not just its elected officials.
  2. End of First-Past-the-Post Voting
    • The traditional “first-past-the-post” rule – where a simple majority wins – finally becomes obsolete. Now twice as many voters must select Y not N for the ruling to proceed. There can never be any close shave outcomes, ever again.
    • Contentious outcomes, delivered using this format means that the UK’s Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the 2020 U.S. election, would never have  happened, greatly reducing the risk of dissatisfaction, riots and bloodshed.
  3. Transparency
    • Throughout the legislative process, before the final vote in parliament, voters will have access to arguments for and against proposed changes, via the web and other agreed media sources.
    • Continuous participation will be encouraged, allowing citizens to ask significant questions and firmly hold politicians accountable.
  4. Re-evaluation Mechanisms
    • Citizens who initially opposed a decision that was enacted will have the opportunity to review and reverse that decision within two years.
    • This encourages continuous engagement and evidence-based choices.
    • Finally, the majority of voters actually get what they actually voted for. We are humans. 100% success is an unachievable target in every case.

Trial and Proof

This system urgently needs to be effectively tested by a range of different countries. Alternatively it could be tested by individual parties within the same country, if it is genuinely seeking new pathways to minimise corruption and deceit. We also need to demonstrate its effectiveness across various religions, nationalities, and cultural contexts. Ideally, we need to start somewhere. Ukraine, Syria are prime possibilities, if they can be approached.

The Philosophy Behind Smartphone Democracy

The principle of Smartphone Democracy is simple:

To finally destroy the on-going Corruption and Manipulation that’s imposed by Rich and Powerful people for EVER!!

“Power in the hands of the few will, given sufficient time, always lead to tragedy.” History has shown that concentrated power benefits only the privileged few at the expense of the majority. This new system ensures that governance reflects the decisions made by a 2:1 majority of every person living in that country, not just its dictators or a selected few big tech CEO’s.

As the old adage goes, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” By leveraging the widespread availability of smartphones and AI technology, it becomes much harder for corrupt individuals to hide their actions indefinitely, as they easily did in the past. Truth can now be shared 24/7, empowering citizens to make informed decisions.

Smartphones have the power to save Planet Earth.

The Role of the United Nations

Under this system, every person on the planet will be able to obtain their own smartphone. Managed, possibly through the United Nations (UN), the AI-driven governance can ensure that truth will prevail and leaders like Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump can be more easily held accountable, even if legislation inevitably fails to provide true justice to the most powerful. This remains a key source of frustration and apathy for the planet’s unprivileged people.

The UN could become a promoter of this type of governance model, providing a wider range of Earth Management services that are based on “One Planet, One Nation” thinking. This vision sees the entire world coming together and eventually becoming united under a single, fair governance structure, where everyone is equal, each person gets an equal vote, no matter where they live or work. Whether its right here on Planet Earth or, in the future, any other planet or moon they choose to work on, in our Solar System.

The Potential Impact

Imagine a world where John Lennon’s dream finally comes true: “and the world will be as one.”

Through the bravery of leaders like Zelenskyy and al-Sharaa, and with substantial support from other nations, this new system of governance might get much closer to delivering us a Brave New World. It offers hope for a future where decisions are made collectively and transparently, and where every individual voice really counts.

A Call to Action

We stand at a pivotal moment in history. With Smartphone Democracy, humanity has the chance to reshape governance across our planet and create a more just, peaceful world. Let’s take inspiration from the courageous leaders of Ukraine and Syria and fight hard to build a system that truly reflects the collective wills of every person living and working on planet earth today.

Fresh strategy to respond to fake news postings by the likes of Putin, Trump and others.

When they propose a false claim, what’s the best way to change their mind?

A recent paper suggests that immediately negating the claim with evidence isn’t especially effective, especially if it get’s presented to them or their prospective followers too quickly.

Perhaps “bypassing” the fake claim with a thoughtful eye-catching counter claim will achieve a better long term outcome?

In answer to the above statement by Trump together with his new friend Musk, it was just too easy!
In their world, truth is way down the pecking order. Their priority is gaining and maintaining power.
